PETG 3D printing service
PETG is the general-purpose engineering filament: tougher than PLA, easier to print than ABS, and resistant to water and most household chemicals. It bends before it breaks, which makes it the sensible default for a functional part that will be handled or fastened. Its layer bonding is strong, so PETG parts are noticeably harder to split along the print direction than PLA ones.

What PETG is good for
- Functional prototypes
- Enclosures and housings
- Brackets and mounts indoors
- Parts in contact with water or cleaning agents
What PETG is the wrong choice for
- Parts needing a crisp cosmetic surface straight off the machine
- Sustained temperatures above roughly boiling water
- Long unsupported bridges
The long-form guide, with design rules and the alternatives side by side: PETG 3D printing, explained.
Designing for PETG
- PETG strings more than PLA, so a part with many small separate islands may need light cleanup. Say so in the notes and it gets done before packing.
- It is the material to pick when the question is "will this snap" rather than "will this look right".

What this page does not claim
There is no tolerance figure and no strength figure for PETG on this page. A printed part does not have the properties of the spool it came from, and this shop has not measured its own, so publishing a number lifted from a filament data sheet would be publishing somebody else's result as ours. What is missing and why is set out under design rules, and where a part needs one of those figures it is measured on a real printed sample rather than quoted from a table.
